Re: Return of Jordan, Fernandes, Kimmel

This may set a record for my shortest post yet. If Jordan, Fernandes, and Kimmel want to return and teach...let them. Let them teach...QUIETLY. No need to bother with petitions. Why? Short answer is below.

Jordan

+ Fernandes

+ Kimmel

_____________

= The Three Has-Beens

No need to say anything more. The simple equation above says it all.

(Update 10/30/07: The comment from "Jane Fernandes" below is NOT from the real Jane Fernandes. It is from someone pretending to be Jane Fernandes.)

Dear Berke,

Comparing me to other two, or even comparing me in that fashion, is outrageous. I do not appreciate your attempt to blemish my stellar reputation in and among the Deaf communities.

However, your ridicule may very well serve as an example to bolster confidence in and about me--a complete opposite effect that you have hoped for.

I WILL teach and I WILL have students. The Gallaudet University has no choice but to have me back; otherwise, there will be certain "actions" undertaken. The Gallaudet University recognizes this circumstance in my favor ever since the wrongful termination, so too will all of you.

My teaching WILL benefit hearing impaired children and students and make a difference in the Deaf communities.

There is always time for adjustment or transition period; once it happens, you all will thank me.

Hey, asshole. Let them teach quietly flawed ideology of hearing supremacy? No way!

Honestly, if this scenario happens at a hearing university, at 99% chance none will ever go back there.

What's the point for you to keep on pressing us like this, for your unpopular popularity?

I agree 100% that the community gotta leave those 3 alone- any action against them will only bring them attention. When they get attention, not many good things happen. :) Let them labor in obscurity. Let them fade from the public's eye.

Wow !

I'm observing from a distance, but after reading Fernandes' comments, I have to pitch in.

I'm wondering who, -beside herself- believe that Fernandes has a "stellar reputation" in the Deaf communities?

A serious dose of modesty is in order.

No one denies her from her right from teaching. Fine for her. The US is a free country, after all.

But returning to Gallaudet... Hello ?!? After what happened ?

There are other places that need teachers me think, if she's so serious about teaching... and I wonder who, -besides herself-, believes it's a good idea to return to Gallaudet, after the turmoil that happened *because* of her ?

(And it strikes me that she's saying this *exactly* a year after she has lost her job).

Re-establish your so stellar reputation eleswhere, first thing first, I'd say. It's not humiliating to do so, by the way...

Her phrase "Gallaudet University has no choice but to have me back; otherwise there will be certain "actions" undertaken", leaves me speechless.

No choice? First, no one is indispensable. Cemetaries are filled of indispensable people. Being humble would certainly help.

Certain actions undertaken? This phrase leaves to several interesting interpretations, none in favor of Fernandes, I'd say.

"There is always time for adjustment or transition period;"

I wish she understands that this phrase applies to her *AS WELL* !

Then she will understand that her termination wasn't wrongful, after all...

Won't hold my breathe, though.

My 2-cent.

Cheers,

-E

Oh my goodness. There shall be boycott to prevent the 3 K's from coming back to Gally. It will be a bitter reminder to us all for what they have done. Stay the hell out of Gally.

Ben, you got it right. To use an analogy, think of a formerly rich man now forced to live in a poorhouse. Eskimo, I almost rejected the alleged comment by jane k. fernandes because I was unsure if it came from her or not. But if you look at the very end..it says "This has been satirized for your protection" which means it is not the real jane fernandes.

Hmmm... I'm wondering if that response post was actually from JKF.... It doesn't strike me as authentic.

And what was that last quote about in parentheses:

(This has been satirized for your own protection.)

"Satirized" comes from the word "satire" which means mockery, parody or imitation. I took that quote to mean this was made up by someone else as if they were pretending to say what they thought JKF would say.... Was someone poking fun?

I don't buy it. I don't think it was really from her. Anyone else feel that way?

And why would the words "for your protection" follow that quote? It's goofy.

I am not for or against Jamie's short post or JKF for that matter. I'm not publicly taking any sides here. Just sharing my suspicions about the authenticity of the response left by JKF above.

Using the term hearing impaired shows the human standard tha she is using to describe Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students. Since she is a woman I guess she is Male impaired and Deaf impaired. This way of expression just sends a message of someone who subscribes to AUDISM.
It is a disaster to have a teacher at Gallaudet with this attitude.
God plase save Gallaudet from this "hearing-impaired Oreo"

JK's comment about hearing-impaired students reveals the true nature of this person. Holding hearing as the standard and so called hearing-impaired as a substandard of humanity shows the lack of understanding of human diversity.
She is then I guess Male-impaired and Deaf-impaired. This is the true picture of AUDISM and how it works. Having a person teach at Gallaudet who subscribes to AUDISM is a disaster for the university and the Deaf students. Maybe this so called STELLAR reputation works in the world of hearing. Patronizing the readers of her comments as if Deaf people are stupid who still not have the insight of understanding this "wrongful" termination. Maybe she will (probably not) understand her wrongful terminations of Deaf employees at Gallaudet.
God please save the students and Gallaudet from this "hearing-impaired OREO"
